The Biography of Phill Bettis, Attorney at Law

Phill Bettis is a 1980 Emory University Lamar School of Law graduate who has practiced law in his hometown of Cumming, Georgia since being admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1980. Phill also obtained his BBA from Mercer University, Atlanta in 1976.  In May of 2001 he left the firm of Boling, Rice, Bettis and Martin to establish his own practice specializing in real estate, corporate, and probate law and mediation and dispute resolution.

As a native of Forsyth County, Phill enjoys taking an active role in the community. He is currently the Chairperson and a Trustee of the Benjamin Brady Foundation which supports many local charitable activities.  Phill was recently elected as a Trustee of the Georgia Baptist Health Care Ministry Foundation.  Phill is a Deacon, Member and Sunday School teacher at Longstreet Baptist Church. He is an Executive Committee Member of the Georgia Baptist Convention. He was also the 2005 Chairman of the State Bar of Georgia Committee on Professionalism and a former Trustee of the Forsyth County Library Board and Lanier Technical College. Phill was honored by to be named the 2004 Volunteer of the Year by the Metro Atlanta YMCA.  Phill was also named as an Atlanta Magazine Georgia Super Lawyer for 2005 and again in 2009.

Aside from his law office and community activities, Phill is working on several writing projects including a novel entitled Summer of Salvation and a collective work of his articles called Phill's Parables, which have been and continue to be published in The Forsyth County News. Phill also enjoys spending time with friends and his family including his wife and three children.
